On March 2, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump made statements on Truth Social regarding his plans for a U.S. strategic crypto reserve, explicitly mentioning XRP among other cryptocurrencies. In his initial post, he stated, "A U.S. Crypto Reserve will elevate this critical industry after years of corrupt attacks by the Biden Administration, which is why my Executive Order on Digital Assets directed the Presidential Working Group to move forward on a Crypto Strategic Reserve that includes XRP, SOL, and ADA. I will make sure the U.S. is the Crypto Capital of the World. We are MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" Approximately an hour later, he followed up with a clarification, adding, "And, obviously, BTC and ETH, as other valuable Cryptocurrencies, will be at the heart of the Reserve."

These comments indicate Trump’s intention to include XRP, alongside Solana (SOL), Cardano (ADA), Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH), in a national crypto reserve, aligning with his broader goal of positioning the U.S. as a global leader in cryptocurrency. His mention of XRP specifically highlights its inclusion as a key asset in this proposed reserve, which he framed as a response to previous regulatory challenges faced by the crypto industry. Earlier instances, such as posts on February 18, 2025, where Trump shared articles about Ripple and XRP on Truth Social, also suggest his interest in the cryptocurrency, though those were less explicit than the March 2 statements.
