Shawn Michael Patton, RN, CEN, TCRN
Shawn Patton is a registered nurse with 30 years of experience in emergency services, trauma care, and hospital leadership. He currently works as a bedside Trauma/Emergency Room Registered Nurse at United Regional Health Care System, where he provides direct patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and remains closely connected to the day-to-day realities patients and staff face.
Throughout his career, Shawn has served in a wide range of roles including firefighter, EMS provider, trauma coordinator, and trauma program manager, giving him a unique, system-wide understanding of healthcare—from the first emergency response through hospital treatment and recovery. He previously spent more than a decade in trauma leadership roles at large and rural hospitals, where he led quality improvement initiatives, emergency preparedness efforts, and the implementation of life-saving clinical protocols.
Shawn is also a certified emergency and trauma nurse, educator, and instructor, teaching ACLS, BLS, and trauma courses, and has led regional Stop the Bleed programs benefiting schools and first responders. He has served on state and regional EMS and trauma advisory committees, including appointment to the Governor’s EMS and Trauma Advisory Council, and has held leadership positions within professional nursing and trauma organizations.
As a candidate for the Nocona General Hospital Board, Shawn brings a front-line nurse’s perspective combined with trusted proven leadership experience. He understands the importance of patient safety, staff support, fiscal responsibility, and regulatory accountability, and believes community hospitals are strongest when board decisions are informed by real-world clinical experience and a deep commitment to the people they serve.
