Books include Coloring My Military Life—Book 1; My Mom's Deployment: A Deployment and Reunion Activity Book for Young Children; My Dad's Deployment; I Love You Near and Far; Gabe: The Dog Who Sniffs Out Danger; and Cedric and the Dragon.
The giveaway is sponsored by Beacon Health Options, with books published by Elva Resa Publishing, Sterling Publishing, and Simon & Schuster, sourced by Military Family Books.

This event is being held in honor of National Day of the Deployed, which is celebrated the following day, on Oct 26. This day honors all US service members who are currently or have been deployed and acknowledges the sacrifices that military families make during deployment. Due to a fundraising event on October 26 benefitting National Military Family Association, the book giveaway will take place on Oct. 25. Interested military families may simply stop by the table at NEX to receive your free book. Thank you for your service!

Last week Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads and NSA Hampton Roads MWR hosted a Back to School Bash where military families enjoyed summer fun and received school supplies to prepare children for the upcoming school year. MWR provides a variety of recreational, social and community activities like this one to boost morale and give back to military personnel and their families.
Congratulations to Class of 2020 CIVIC alum, CAPT Jon Kline, on a beautiful Change of Command ceremony last week! CAPT Kline is headed to Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central for a few years before he returns to the #757. Fair seas on your international adventures!
Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads U.S. Navy
Rear Adm. Charles Rock spoke at the change of command ceremony at Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads today, where Capt. Matthew Frauenzimmer relieved Capt. Jonathan Kline as the installation’s commanding officer.
NSA Hampton Roads is home to more than 60 tenant commands, employing 24,000 DoD and government employees on six regional bases in three Virginia cities and two North Carolina counties.
