As National Preparedness Month comes to a close, we want to ensure that our base community is ready to tackle the next disaster, tornado, hurricane or other emergency situation. Our area has seen quite a few of these disasters, so we know that it can easily happen again, which is why being prepared for it is so critical.
This year’s theme is “Take Control in 1, 2, 3”. This theme empowers everyone, especially older adults, to 1) assess their needs, 2) make a plan and 3) engage their support network to stay safe when disaster strikes.
If we work together, we can ensure that our family, friends and colleagues are all ready when the next disaster strikes.
