One of the biggest challenges I see among military spouses today is connection. Somewhere along the way, we stopped showing up for each other the way we used to. Friendships aren’t forming as easily. Socials aren’t packed like they once were. Spouse clubs exist—but attendance is at an all-time low.
And honestly? We’ve got to do better.
Ask yourself this: if an emergency happened right now and your service member was gone, who would you call? Who’s on your emergency list? Someone nearby—in the same city, the same state? Or someone hundreds or thousands of miles away?
Those local connections matter more than we sometimes realize.
Please don’t sit at home carrying everything alone. This life is hard enough—we were never meant to do it by ourselves. Reach out. Show up. Make that first awkward introduction. Build your village.
There are so many opportunities waiting for you:
• The USO is always hosting something fun.
• ASYMCA offers incredible support and events.
• MWR is constantly creating chances to connect, unwind, and just enjoy life.
You belong here. Your presence matters. Your story matters.
Let’s rebuild our community—one conversation, one coffee, one event at a time. 💪💙
