Trauma…It can stall us, break us, crush us, redirect us, or make us want to hide. I’ve been there. I am still there in some areas.
But there is healing. There is hope.

Healing comes in pieces. And a lot of the time, the pieces are given to us by those who have also experienced deep trauma.
Does this resonate with your heart? Here is something to move you along to the next step of healing. A retreat for the heart-broken. A haven for those who need others who have walked similar paths. (and there's a GIVEAWAY at the end).

The idea of Beautiful Ashes Ministries (www.beautifulashesministries.org) sprouted out of Beth's own trauma story after her marriage ended. She wanted those who find themselves standing in the ashes of their past to trust that God will make them and their stories beautiful. And when her friend Vic came along, they worked hard at crafting a team and ministry that catered to these hurting women. I’ve grown to know them over this past year as I've photographed their branding and they are authentic and have become sweet friends. They have played a big part in my healing.

Beth, Vic, and their team are hosting a retreat in just a couple of weeks, on Sept. 8-9, 2023 in Mineral Wells, TX (just west of Ft. Worth). It will be hosted at the lovely Rest Yourself Ranch overlooking the Brazos River from a 150-foot cliff. The atmosphere will be stunning and the teaching from these 4 wise people will be rich with God’s truth. I’ll be there covering the event with my camera, but will also be listening, learning, and surrendering. I do hope to see you there.

I am sooo excited that this lovely tree decided to bloom this year for our mini sessions. It was stunning in 2020 but freezing temps knocked it out in ‘21 & ‘22. Go to the link in my bio to sign up while it’s still blooming! It is well worth it, my friends!

We are called to share one another’s burdens. To help carry those heavy loads when people get tired. If you saw someone on your city street struggling to carry some oversized load, would you stop to offer a hand?

This wonderful lady who has served our city for over thirty years with delicious donuts from Donut King, is in need of a hand. I’ve come to know her heart over the last 20 years and it’s just beautiful.
