Norridge First Party

Norridge First Party The Norridge First Party established a slate of candidates who are qualified, experienced and committed to working for you. We deserve better.

Our office is located at 4501 North Cumberland Avenue, Norridge

As residents and volunteers of the great village of Norridge, we are concerned about our village's future. We live in and volunteer for our village. Like you, we care about Norridge and its residents. Our current village leaders have failed us. We're paying more in taxes, while our services are being cut, including our police force.

Storefronts and commercial property remain vacant for years after businesses have left our village. That's why we established the Norridge First Party. Politics as usual in Norridge needs to change. One political party now controls Norridge. It's important to give our neighbors a choice. We know it won't be easy. Those in control will say and do anything to keep their power. We welcome you to contact us about any questions, issues or problems you have with village government. We are here to serve you. Call us at: 708-695-9590

Please mark your calendars to vote for the Norridge First team on election day, April 4th, 2017

Tom Benigno - for Village President
Agnieszka Baran - for Village Clerk
Peter Fontanetta- for Village Trustee

Peter

A post by a concerned resident sent to our attention,

Wow,wow, wow!I just received my Village of Norridge (State of the Village)in the mail!
Why does the Norridge Improvement Party insult every Norridge resident's intelligence?
I cannot remember ever receiving this type of letter before.Oh wait a minute, yes I can, 4 years ago when the election for mayor was near.
The timing of such a obvious political statement is troublesome to me.The residents should be receiving updates monthly not once every 4 years during their campaign season.
This is obviously a political statement by the Norridge Improvement Party and PAID for by the Norridge residents under the guise,"state of the village".Shame on you,Mr. Chmura.
After reading the State of the Village, that we paid for,I have numerous questions/comments.
Paragragh 5, Mr. Chmura writes,"we are in the process of searching for additional funding so we can complete the project".
You think maybe one would have known where all the funding would be coming from BEFORE you started the project?
Paragraph 5,aggressively pursued new sources of revenue?
The show has sat empty for years until recently when pressured,Chmura stated,it will be developed as a movie theater.
I don't have to tell you what that will be like in the future,a haven for the inner city.
Aggressive? Drive down Irving Pk.Rd.
There is a Norridge owned parking lot for sale.
A vacant land eye sore at Overhill that doubles as a parking lot for Edelweiss.
The Joe Sieb building that has not been used in years.
Hey,what about Lawrence/Canfield?
The vacant lot east of the car wash.
The vacant lot east of Cumberland Chapels.
I can go on and on as all of us could. That is aggressive?
22 new businesses,very misleading.
I could nitpik all of them.
Blossom cafe,Ellys,Newbes were already established under different names.
The majority are mall properties, chmura negotiated for Michael Marchese?I highly doubt that.
Wait a minute,Stella's Place,a gambling hall that most villages frown upon.
X-port fitness, they had to hire private security due to the high volume of crime.
What has Mr.Chmura and Norridge Improvement Party accomplished?
1. The school board is in shambles.
2. Raised taxes.
3. Remember when your water bill was $8-12? Look now.
4. Brought gambling to Norridge.Harwood Hts. and Park Ridge turned it down.
5. Eliminated 10-15 police personnel.
That' s just to name a few.
Like I said, the State of the Village letter would be comical if it was not so SAD!
It is time for a change.
