Hello North Branch,
I would like to introduce myself and let you know that I am running for City Council. My name is Evelyn ‘Nadia’ (rhymes with Madea, the Tyler Perry movies) Broome. My husband, Barry, and I recently moved to North Branch with our family. I am currently the CEO of Broome Family Investments (fancy way to say, I’m at stay at home mom). In my former working life I worked for the state of Wyoming both in the Department of Education as well as for the Board of Equalization. My hobbies include being outside: gardening, hiking, fishing, playing with kiddos at the park, and enjoying all the goodness God has provided. I enjoy cooking and baking, to include selling cakes and other baked goods both as a vendor and for individuals. Lastly, I love to create home décor, sew, read, and enjoy my family.
Why vote for me for City Council?
- As a newer resident of North Branch I feel I can accurately represent the residents with a set of ‘fresh eyes’. I have no past judgements or preconceptions, and will be able to listen as you voice your concerns, thoughts, and questions, then research and hopefully provide positive outcomes to issues. I simply desire to positively improve the community for those who are here as well as others moving to our city.
- I have younger children. This will give city council diversity, a broader perspective on issues and opportunities, a key factor in North Branch thriving, moving forward, and an exceptional place to live or visit!
Many will judge and conclude that I will not be able to represent North Branch as they may perceive being newer to the community or having young children will be a hindrance. I can assure you that these two things, among others, are my driving force to continue having North Branch a desirable place to raise a family, retire, a place where you are proud to call home.
- I am aware of issues such as water, higher taxes, lack of business presence/development in the Tanger Outlet center, and a desire for a community center. I cannot personally fix these issues alone, but as a council member I can raise awareness to the issue and work to have positive outcomes.
I can tell you that as a council member I will be working with you, not against you. I will be striving to do what is right all of us and our community.
Warm Regards,
E. Nadia Broome
