Good morning, the Water Department is currently working on a leak on Hillsville Rd. Unfortunately this will require the road to be closed between Ashley Rd and Ryan Rd. Please seek alternate routes and use caution while traveling in that area. We will update you as soon as the road is reopened. Thank you for your patience.

🚨SCAM ALERT!🚨

The North Brookfield Police Department would like to notify our residents about a scam that has targeted a member of our community.

In this incident, scammers posed as investigators with the FBI and FDIC and convinced the victim to participate in a sting operation because they alleged the victim’s banking institution to be engaged in fraudulent activity.

The victim was then advised to withdraw a large sum of money and that a courier would come collect it. When the victim voiced their suspicions of this fraud, the scammers then masked their phone number to appear as if the North Brookfield Police Department was calling the victim’s phone directly. The scammer then claimed to be the Chief of Police, informing the victim that they would be charged for obstructing a federal investigation if they did not hand over the money. This prompted the victim to give the money to an unidentified white male who arrived at his home in a rental vehicle.

This incident remains under investigation.

Never give out personal information over the phone. Additionally, never click on hyperlinks in text messages and emails from unknown senders. If you are ever in doubt about a communication you have received, call us at 508-867-0206 or 508-867-1170.

New Braintree:

Starting Monday, August 3rd around 7am, Barre Rd. (Rt 67) will be closed to thru traffic between Oakham Rd. and Moore Rd. for a culvert replacement. This closure will be 24 hours a day for up to 10 weeks.

Southbound traffic will be detoured Oakham Rd. to Worcester Rd. to Igoe Rd. to Moore Rd. back onto Barre Rd. and the reverse for northbound traffic.

Large trucks are encouraged to use Rt. 148 to bypass the smaller road detour.

Local traffic will be able to get to their houses inside the closure area from correct side. Evergreen Cemetery will be accessed from the north side closure of Barre Rd. or using Cemetery Rd. from Utley Rd.

It is that time again; join the North Brookfield Police Association on Sunday, August 30th, 2026, for our 4th Annual Car Show. We will have food, live music, a bouncy house, an obstacle course, and other family fun activities. Oh, and we can’t forget a chance to dunk an officer in the dunk tank.

Please be advised that today, starting at approximately 7:00 PM, North Main St will be closed to through traffic from Bell St, north to the intersection of Bell Rd on New Braintree Rd. Detour signs and detail officers will be in place. At approximately 11:00 PM, as the work zone approaches the center of town, North Main St will be closed from School St. north to Grove St. Detour signs and detail officers will be in place. Please ensure that all parked vehicles are removed from the roadway prior to 7:00 PM.

Please be advised that New Braintree Rd (Rte 67) will be closed to thru traffic tonight from approximately 6:30PM-5:30AM to allow ongoing paving operations.

A detour will be set up, rerouting north bound traffic onto Oakham Rd (Rte 148), to Robinson Rd, to Worcester Rd, which then intersects with Rte 67 in New Braintree. South bound traffic will be rerouted along this same detour in reverse order.

Residents who live within this section of New Braintree Rd will be assisted through the construction zone by detail officers but are encouraged to make necessary arrangements to avoid needing to travel during this time period. Please note that there may be significant delays.

Residents of Bell Rd, Mill Rd and Stoddard Rd areas are encouraged to avoid travel utilizing New Braintree Rd.

Good afternoon, we have just received notice of a paving operation tomorrow starting at 7am. Paving will be from Spring St. to Bell St.. This should impact the northbound travel lane to the curb. The southbound side will only be the travel lane. Please use caution and patience when you’re in the area. This is only a leveling coat and should go quickly.
