Friends, it's with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of Quill Cottage Wildlife. Kyle has changed jobs, which means a lot of travel for us both in the next few years. This leaves us unable to care for any critters. We thank everyone who has supported us over the years and hope that more rehabbers step up in our place to help the wildlife of NE Ohio!

Thanks for another great year, friends! The doors to Quill Cottge Wildlife are closing a bit early this year to help get Slim Shady settled in to his new space, as well as allowing us to focus on his training. We will be back in time for baby season next spring!

Well, we have good news and we have bad news. The Bad: Slim Shady cannot be released into the wild. Being leucistic, his instincts tell him he is safely camouflaged in places that make him light up like a Christmas tree. The Good: Slim Shady is staying on permanently at Quill Cottage Wildlife as an ambassador animal, teaching people about the joys of pigmentation, mutations, Punnett squares and the like. This also means we can abandon his “stay wild” training and can now transition him to be a kept Schwubba, like he always wanted. Snuggles for days! Now accepting donations of collard green and kale! Ha! Will also gladly accept any leftover watermelon you may encounter. Welcome home, Shady.

She’s on her way! The precious Lodger The Flying Dutchman (formerly known as Pixie Belle) is back out into the wild. We will certainly miss Dutchie, and her big ol’ eyeballs, but she’s got so much fun stuff ahead of her! I hope she has a wonderful wild adventure ahead of her!
