It's back to school season...

And the prices are insane.

I have 4 daughters. Back-to-school has always been about tight budgeting in our house.

But the conversations I'm having now are on another level. I spoke with a young mom in Mercer this week. She took her daughter for back-to-school clothes shopping.

One single 5-pack of underwear
One single 8-pack of plain black socks
2- Training Bras
5- shirts, 3 on clearance
2- pairs of pants
2- sweatpants
1- sweatshirt
1- pair of sneakers

$160. Mom budgeted $100.

The Right to Vote Is Worth Remembering 🇺🇸

Today, we mark the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, a landmark moment in American history that recognized women’s constitutional right to vote.

Ratified on August 18, 1920, the amendment represented generations of determination, courage, organizing, and persistence by women who refused to accept that their voices should be excluded from our democracy.

But history also reminds us that the 19th Amendment did not immediately guarantee voting access for every woman. Many women of color continued to face discriminatory laws and practices that prevented them from fully exercising their rights for decades.

The story of voting rights is a story of America continually striving to live up to its promise of democracy and equality.

We remember those who fought. We honor those who persevered. And we recognize that every voice matters.
