When you see utility markings on the ground, you’re looking at more than just paint, you're looking at the web of underground utilities! Before you pick up that shovel, remember to measure the tolerance zone!

This zone includes the width of the facility and extends 18 inches on either side of marked utilities. It’s a safety buffer designed to protect essential services like gas, electricity, water, fiber, and more. Within this area, digging should only be done carefully and with hand tools.
