When I started Dragonfly, I really thought my friends and family would be my first customers. Boy, was I wrong.

Nobody tells you this when you become a notary, but your inner circle is there to cheer you on, not necessarily to pay the bills. I learned the hard way that I had to step out, go to Chamber ribbon cuttings, and meet people who actually needed what I do.

It was a little scary at first, but once I started showing up consistently with the yellow Jeep, things started to happen. Trust is built by showing up where the problems are: like a late-night hospital signing or a complex real estate closing.

Marketing isn't about the size of your wallet; it's about the consistency of your presence. I spent thousands to learn that the best marketing tool I own cost me $25 at a local print shop.

When I first started Dragonfly Mobile Notary & Fingerprinting, I thought I needed expensive ads to find clients. I poured money into digital campaigns, but the phone didn't ring like I expected.
