A THANKSGIVING MESSAGE TO OUR FRIENDS IN THE U.S.A. AND CANADA.

To all our friends we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Even though we have faced some difficult times, we have much to be thankful for.

I would venture to say that of all the gifts God has given us to be very thankful for is the gift of freedom. A gift that we have spread with blood, sweat, and tears on every piece of real estate on this planet.

President Ronald Reagan in a speech at Moscow University in 1988 said that “Freedom is the recognition that no single person, no single authority, or government has a monopoly on the truth, but every individual life is infinitely precious, that every one of us put on this world has been put there for a reason and something to offer.”

Today, I am very thankful for the bonding and lasting friendship we in America have forged between us and the freedom loving people of Canada.

I believe the bonding of that friendship between us is the result of the tough times both our nations are facing regarding the political climate challenging our freedom and liberty.

Very often many people look at the evil thrown at us each day by political leaders who have little or no care about the common good of the people. And as a result, these people become discouraged and downtrodden.

I urge those of you who feel this way to at times look towards the Heavens and remember this scripture; Genesis 5:20- “What man meant for evil, God meant for good; and Romans 8:28- “All things work together for the good, for those who love the Lord thy God according to His will.”

It is the challenges and tough times we have faced in the past and are facing separately today that brought us together for the good of our nations.

Let us be thankful for the individual gifts and skills God has given all of us to fight the good fight of faith, to run the course and finish the race for freedom and liberty.

Let us be thankful that God sent his son Jesus Christ to this earth, to set us free from our sins.

Together, we will travel in many valleys.

Together, we will meet many challenges.

Together we will march forward in thanksgiving to God for creating us for such a time as this.

And through it all, together we will shout with joy, from the high mountain peak-- Let Freedom Ring. Happy Thanksgiving.
God bless you all. -Lt

VETERANS DAY SPEECH NOVEMEMBER 11, 2024

VETERANS DAY IS A DAY WHEN ALL AMERICANS CAN DEMONSTRATE, BY BOTH WORD AND DEED THEIR WILLINGNESS TO HONOR THE COURGEOUS MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE SERVED IN THE PAST, AND WHO ARE SERVING TODAY, IN THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

MILLIONS OF AMERICANS WILL VISIT MOUNUMENTS MADE OF BRICK AND MORTOR, AND GLASS AND METAL, CREATED AND CONSTRUCTED BY OTHERS WHO WANTED TO MAKE SURE FUTURE GENRATIONS OF AMERICANS WOULD NOT FORGET THOSE WHO SERVED AND ARE SERVING OUR NATION IN THE US ARMED FORCES.

EVERY SINGLE DAY, TODAY’S VETERANS ARE LIVING MONUMENTS, NOT OF MOTOR AND BRICK, OR GLASS AND METAL, BUT OF FLESH AND BLOOD, WHO CONVEY BY BOTH WORD AND DEED, A STORY OF DUTY, HONOR, AND COUNTRY TO TODAY’S GENERATION OF AMERICANS.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, TODAY’S VETERANS ARE THE VOICE OF THOSE WHO SACRIFICED HEIR LIVES AND CAN NO LONGER SPEAK ABOUT THE PRICE THEY PAID TO KEEP THIS GENERATION AND FUTURE GENERATIONS OF AMERICANS FREE.

YES, TODAY’S VETERANS ARE LIVING MONUMENTS WHO HAVE STORIES TO SHARE ABOUT THEIR TIME AND THE TIMES THAT THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS SERVED IN THE UNITED ARMED FORCES, BOTH DURING WAR AND PEACE.

IN OUR TIME, LET US SHARE OUR STORIES WITH THIS NEXT GENERTION OF AMERICANS SO THAT THEY IN THEIR TIME WILL SHARE THOSE STORIES OF COURAGE, HEROISM, AND SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY WITH THEIR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDEN AND ENSURE THAT THE STORIES THEY HEAR FROM TODAYS LIVING MONUMENTS, OUR AMERICAN VETERANS, WILL NEVER DIE.

AND MAY I ADD THAT WE REMEMBER THE SACRFICES OF OUR ALLIES, ESPECIALLY THE MEN AND WOMEN FROM OUR NORTHERN NEIGHBOR, CANADA, WHO ARE CELEBRATING THEIR REMEMBERANCE DAY OF THOSE WHO SHED THEIR BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS, SIDE BY SIDE WITH AMERICANS FOR THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM AND LIBERTY AROUND THE WORLD.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 5:13

GOD BLESS ALL OF THEM.

80th Anniversary of D-Day Remembered June 6, 2024
The Allied invasion of Normandy, France on June 6, 1944, widely regarded as D-Day, is considered by many the beginning of the end of World War II in Europe. Also known as Operation Overlord, the effort to free N**i-occupied France represented the largest multi-national amphibious attack and operational military airdrop in history. According to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (formerly known as the Army Map Service), “an estimated 850,279 men, 148,803 vehicles, and 570,505 tons of supplies landed in Normandy.”
Critical to the campaigns success were 5,000 Allied ships that protected the English Channel and 12,000 Allied airplanes which protected the skies.
Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force General Dwight D. Eisenhower shared this message with the troops on June 6, 1944: “The eyes of the world are upon you…The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you. Your task will not be an easy one…Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle hardened, he will fight savagely…I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory!”
Along a 50-mile stretch of northern beaches in Normandy, France, 160,000 troops landed to repel N**i German troops. More than 9,000 Allied soldiers were killed or wounded in the battle which marked a turning point in the war and made it possible for 100,000 soldiers to press on across the continent until Europe was liberated and the N**is were definitively defeated on May 8, 1945.
We honor the courage and sacrifice of our Allied soldiers, which shaped the free world as we know it today. Among other events, the U.S. Army and American Battle Monuments Commission will live stream a special commemorative event from the Normandy American Cemetery in France on June 6, 2024, at 6:30 am EDT. -AUSN

It was an honor for me to place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery on behalf of the Association of the United States Navy, on Memorial Day.

As I looked at the thousands of young men and women who gave their lives so that we can live in a free country, I could not help but to think that every school across our land should schedule a field trip for their students to visit this sacred ground. No history book can never teach our young about the voices whispering from these graves- LET FREEDOM RING!
