Unfortunately, not every kid is excited for the start of the school year.

On social media, you might see plenty of smiling first-day-of-school photos, but what you won’t see is the child who barely slept the night before, the teen who’s already worried about fitting in, or the parent wondering if this year will hold any change.

The beginning of the school year can bring excitement, but it can also bring some very real anxiety.

KSBH is here to be a resource for you and your family!

A lot of men grow up believing they should handle everything on their own.

Stress, grief, anxiety, relationship struggles… sometimes the message is “just push through.” But asking for help isn’t giving up! It’s choosing to move forward.

We’re proud to be expanding services specifically for men because everyone deserves support, and no one should carry life’s challenges alone.

Today we celebrated the life of our dear friend and former board president, Janet Frasher. Her legacy will live on at KSBH in many ways, but specifically through a new support community for those experiencing cancer. It was Janet’s hope that at KSBH at The Farm, we could expand our mental health mission to include persons fighting cancer and those who support them. “Grace & Grit” will be a new group providing this support and will be launching very soon. Please stay tuned for details. KSBH thanks Janet for her service, her loyalty, her dedication, and her commitment to connecting others.

Mental health isn’t a one-size-fits-all thing.

A teenager navigating school stress doesn’t need the same support as an adult facing burnout, and someone entering retirement has different needs than a recent graduate learning how to navigate independence.

So, we’re growing! KSBH is offering expanded services designed specifically for adults 55+, men, young adults, and adolescents, with even more on the horizon.

At KSBH, we have so many people to thank for the amazing things they do for us. Tonight, we want to give some really special thanks to a group of people working behind the scenes for us every single day. Our friends at Dovetail light up our mission with their creativity, and broaden our reach so more people can be served. A good marketing team inspires! We are so fortunate to have Dovetail as part of our KSBH family!

Over the past several days, the attention of Karla Smith Behavioral Health and our Board of Directors has been turned toward our dear Friend and Board member,Janet Frasher. A sincere and committed advocate for our mission, Janet lost her battle with cancer on July 11. Janet’s impact on KSBH will continue to be felt and treasured. We are honored that she chose to champion our cause. She was a connector, deeply rooted in this community, and adored by many, especially her KSBH Family.

Please join us in prayer for her beloved husband, children, extended family and friends.
