We’re wishing this little one the very best. Her road to recovery may be a challenging one, but she’s in the best possible hands. If anyone can help this sweet girl heal and get back where she belongs, it’s the amazing Whitney Kitts!

Another turtle release! This time in Madisonville. This beauty was found on the road with some pretty nasty wounds, but thanks to Little River Wildlife Rehabilitation, she was healed up and ready to release back home! 💚

Double Eastern Box Turtle release! 🐢🐢

Two Eastern Box Turtles are back where they belong! 🌲

One turtle, from Sevierville, was run over by a vehicle—so severely that it even popped the tire—and somehow survived thanks to the incredible care provided by Little River Wildlife Rehabilitation! The second turtle, from Corryton, was recovering after being injured by a dog.

Amazing work by Little River Wildlife Rehabilitation 🙌🏻

Both have now been successfully returned to the wild! 🌿

Another Wind Rock rescue! Not wildlife this time but a cat! 🐈 This sweet boy was abandoned by some folks with Ohio plates and he had an injured leg. That’s all we were told. We decided to take him to the vet last night where he received medical treatment. Several generous people donated towards the vet bill and we are so thankful for them! We love all animals! 🐾

A late evening adventure. These nestlings accidentally hitch hiked on an RV to Wind Rock Mountain! Thankfully, the owners of the RV noticed and called a local bird rehab so they would survive! Thank you, once again, to the amazing Whitney Kitts for helping these feisty little boogers! 🥰 they’re in great hands! 🙌🏻

Join us on Saturday, July 4, at 4:00 PM at the boat ramp for the release of “Kodak”, the rehabilitated American Bald Eagle back into the wild. There’s no better way to celebrate Independence Day than by watching this magnificent bird soar free once again.

This special event is made possible through a partnership between Seven Islands State Birding Park, Owl Ridge Raptor Center, and the American Eagle Foundation.

Anna (Raven) spotted a piebald deer during her morning walk. Here are some interesting facts about piebalds!

* Piebald deer are a rare color variation of white-tailed deer, occurring in less than 2% of the population.

* They have unique patches of white and brown fur caused by a genetic pigmentation condition.

* Unlike albino deer, piebald deer usually have normal-colored eyes and noses.

* Some piebald deer may have physical abnormalities, such as curved spines or shortened legs.

* Many cultures consider piebald deer to be special or sacred.
