Yesterday afternoon, Oakhurst FD and the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District 1 held a ceremony officially dedicating our new Station 2. The ceremony was attended by local, county and state officials as well as our members and their families and friends. Board President Tom Reu led the ceremony by presenting the history of the district, fire company and the project and partnership with our neighbors at Hillel School that led to the new firehouse. We also unveiled several plaques recognizing those instrumental to the project and in remembrance of Ex-Chiefs William Reu and Rick DiBiase.

Yesterday evening, our members attended a live burn training session at the Monmouth County Fire Academy. Last nights training included fire suppression in various scenarios, VEIS and pump operations. We were fortunate enough to share this training session with a few members of Belmar FD and the career members of our District 1 Fire Bureau.
