Resident Service Coordinator (oakland downtown)
Who We Are:
Providence House offers Permanent Supportive Housing for people with disability. A 41-unit building owned and operated by Providence Health & Services, we opened in 1991 with HUD agreement to offer preference to applicants whose disability was HIV/AIDS.
Position Summary:
The Resident Service Coordinator works primarily to support both individual residents and community well-being, education and development. The role requires a variety of functions including individual resident case management, advocacy, counseling, liaison, community development and education. The Resident Service Coordinator's purpose is to ensure aging in place, safety and quality of life. The work requires an understanding of support service standards, procedures and processes with an emphasis on people with disability, HIV/AIDS and aging. Data collection and reporting per HUD guidelines is required. Agency uses AASC software.
The Service Coordinator at Providence House Oakland will work with a small dedicated staff to provide supportive housing and support services to help our residents live more stable and engaged lives. The Supportive Housing department of Providence Health & Services operates 13 other supportive housing programs in Washington and Oregon designed for elderly or disabled individuals. The Service Coordinator at Providence House in Oakland will have access to and engagement with our system-wide team of Service Coordinators for resources and support.
Education:
Bachelor degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or Gerontology, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
-2 years minimum experience in social service delivery in the Oakland area.
-Experience working with people with disability and people with HIV/AIDS
