Aanapisi Grant at Laney College

The Asian American Native American Pacific Islander initiative (AANAPI) is a new learning community at Laney College to help Asian and Pacific Islander students achieve their educational goals. Students who participate in a learning community become part of a group or cohort who take classes together.

Mission: The Laney College Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) Initiative has been designed to enhance the capacity of the college to serve its large and diverse AANAPI student population, increasing student engagement and improving educational outcomes for this student cohort. Overall, Laney College aims to challenge the model minority myth and contribute to the emerging field of community college research through its new AANAPISI Initiative.
