What the flux? Renewable energy and its advocates and detractors are having a moment, that’s what, a bout of hysteria after the Associated Press revealed that, OMG, renewables aren’t a magical force capable of keeping our air conditioners humming and big-screen TVs aglow without exacting some toll.…

We're setting the record straight on the impact of solar flux to avian species. From Jan-June 2014 there were 133 flux fatalities at Ivanpah. NOT 28,000 as predicted by opponents. Get the facts here:

Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System Earns POWER's Highest Honor - POWER Magazine

“For nine out of the past 11 years, the Plant of the Year has been some sort of coal plant. This year, for the first time, it’s a renewable plant. That only seems fitting, especially as the importance of renewable generation increases globally.”
- POWER magazine

The era of Big Solar has arrived, and at the moment there are none bigger than Ivanpah. For overcoming numerous obstacles to build the world’s largest solar thermal plant, the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System is awarded POWER’s 2014 Plant of the Year Award.
