Thanks to the The Mercury News for this amazing profile of the amazing Youth Poet Laureate - Oakland, Greer!

"Over and over this year, young people have made their mark in critical ways. They showed up in a historic election. They protested racial injustice. They made their voices known.

And one 16-year-old continues to rise to the occasion."

What We Hold

Here's an exciting virtual opportunity for teens through the Contemporary Jewish Museum. Email [email protected] for more information.

Teens! You are invited to create a new audio work, exploring something you hold close, for a Museum exhibition.

The Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco invites teens from all backgrounds to create audio pieces reflecting on something they are exploring about their heritage or family life.

Teens participate in three sessions in which they meet with audio, media, and hip-hop artists, to learn pathways and skills for a new media creation. Teens create their recording over the course of two months, at their own pace. Submitted audios are then brought together to produce What We Hold! This project is open to all interested teens.

Listen to audio stories created by teens reflecting on how cultural inheritance and family life shape their identities. Explore themes, including sibling dynamics, crossing oceans, name changes, and much more.
