YOKOSUKA, Japan Rear Adm. Matthew Case, acting assistant director, Health Care Administration, Defense Health Agency, meets with Vice Adm. Fred W. Kacher, commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, aboard the flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). The leaders discussed fleet medical readiness, health care delivery in the Indo-Pacific, and continued coordination between the Defense Health Agency and U.S. 7th Fleet medical teams. The event was part of a two-day engagement that included leadership meetings, an All-Hands Call, a junior Sailor lunch, and tours of the hospital’s facilities.

COMMANDER, FLEET ACTIVITIES YOKOSUKA, Vice Admiral Fred W. Kacher, Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, joins Lt. Andrea L. Sematoske, U.S. 7th Fleet Bandmaster, on stage during a joint practice between the U.S. 7th Fleet Band and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Yokosuka Band at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan's Benny Decker Theater Sunday, December 15, 2024. The Vice Admiral took notes for instrumental breaks scheduled to happen between his reading of Twas The Night Before Christmas. The concert is a holiday tradition in Yokosuka over the last decade with base community members and their guests typically filling the theater's auditorium to standing room only. This year marks the first time the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Yokosuka Band and the Department of Defense Education Activity's Nile C. Kinnick High School Drumline and the school's choir all joined in the celebration.
