This afternoon, our department was dispatched to a report of a semi-truck on fire at Signal Peak Sand Plant.

Thankfully, the driver was okay, and the fire was quickly brought under control thanks to the fast response of our volunteers and the assistance of the Eagle City and Watonga Fire Departments.

We’re grateful for everyone who responded and worked together to get the situation under control safely. Great job, everyone! 🚒🔥

Our volunteers have stayed busy the past couple days serving our neighboring communities.

Yesterday morning, our department responded to a call near Canton. Shortly after clearing that scene, we were dispatched to assist with a wheat field fire near the daycare in Seiling.

We are incredibly thankful that all of the children and daycare staff were able to evacuate safely. We appreciate the efforts of all the responding departments who worked together to bring the fire under control.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out and supported our fundraiser yesterday! We truly cannot express how grateful we are to be part of such an incredible and supportive community.

Thank you to everyone who donated their time, volunteered, and contributed items for our auction. Your generosity and support made this event possible.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Evans Auctions for generously donating their time and providing the auctioneering services for the evening. We hope everyone got to stay and watch the firework show that was put on by some of our volunteers!

Because of all of you, this fundraiser was a tremendous success, and every dollar raised will help support the Oakwood Volunteer Fire Department. We are truly blessed to have such amazing friends, neighbors, and supporters. Thank you all!

Join us for the Oakwood Fish Fry Fundraiser on Saturday, June 27th at the Oakwood Community Center, starting at 6:00 PM!

Our department was invited to participate in Farm Safety Day at Taloga. Joshua Colvard spoke with students about fire safety, explaining the equipment used to combat both wildland and structure fires.

Students had the opportunity to walk through the smoke house with Vici Fire Dept. and spray a fire hose with Taloga Fire & EMS, giving them a hands-on learning experience.

Farm Safety Day also featured important topics such as tractor safety, ATV safety, electrical safety, and many others. We are grateful to be part of an event that helps educate and protect our community’s youth.
