During severe weather, the best way to report an outage is through our online portal or by calling our outage line at (352) 351‑6666. This ensures our crews get accurate, real-time information and can respond quickly.

We’ll share updates here on social media as we can, but reporting directly through our phone line or online outage tool helps us serve you faster.

🎓⚡ This summer wasn't just any summer — it was a starting point.

Nine weeks. Eighteen sessions. Countless lessons. Today, we proudly celebrate the graduates of the City Path Summer Academy! 🎉

What began as a vision to introduce young adults to careers in the electric utility industry became an investment in our community's future. Throughout the academy, participants gained hands-on experience in electrical fundamentals, safety, field skills, teamwork and leadership — preparing them for bright futures while helping build the next generation of our workforce.

A special thank you to Irby Utilities and Milwaukee Tool for their incredible partnership. 🛠️ Because of their generous support, every graduate received a professional tool kit to continue building their skills long after the academy ends. Your investment has created opportunities that will last for years to come.

Thank you to Coach Clinton Hart for delivering an inspiring keynote address and for your unwavering dedication to our community. 💙

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the City of Ocala's City Council, Senior Leadership, and our outstanding Ocala Electric Utility instructors, whose commitment made this academy possible. Last night at City Council, Mayor Marciano presented a proclamation recognizing Florida Lineworker Appreciation Day, honoring the dedicated men and women of Ocala Electric Utility who work tirelessly around the clock to keep our community powered with safe, reliable service.

🏆 We’re also proud to share that the Florida Municipal Electric Association awarded OEU its inaugural Utility Award of Excellence — a tremendous honor that highlights the team’s commitment to operational excellence, reliability, and top-tier customer service.

We’re wrapping up the final week of the City Path Summer Academy, and what an incredible finish it was! This week, our cohort dove into the world of Sunshine 811, learning the importance of safe digging practices and even getting hands-on experience in the field. 👷🥾 On Tuesday, they worked up a sweat learning how to dig safely and responsibly, and it was great to see their teamwork and enthusiasm in action.

Then on Thursday, the group shifted gears for a professional development session focused on job applications and interview readiness. They learned directly from our Manager of Business Operations & Strategic Planning, Tyler Puckett, who shared valuable tips on how to prepare for interviews and present themselves confidently. 💬 ☑️

The cohort also met McKenna Richardson, Talent Acquisition Partner II at R+L Global Logistics, who walked them through industry best practices and helped guide them through mock interviews to put their skills to the test.

We are so excited to celebrate our inaugural class next Thursday at their graduation! It has been an honor to watch this group engage, learn, challenge each other, and truly enjoy exploring the world of OEU.

Week 8 of the City Path Training Academy was wired for success! ⚡

Our AMI and T&D teams showed this inaugural class the ins and outs of wiring and landing, and we capped things off with one of Florida’s most essential lessons: staying hydrated and staying ergonomic. 💧🧰

With only two sessions left before graduation, it’s amazing to see how far these future pros have come. We’ve had an absolute blast this summer, and it’s been a privilege watching the next generation learn, grow, and shine! 🌟
