WORKSHOP ALERT////// It’s been forever since I’ve taught a class (pre pandemic), so I thought I would share with you how to make this sweet Checker Wall Hanging for your home! This is an Intermediate level class, for those who have had some knotting and/or hand weaving experience. Choose from two different color combinations. June 4th from 1-4pm, at my studio in downtown Ojai. If the weather is nice we’ll work outside in the back garden. Link in bio for more details and to sign up. Can’t wait!!! 🌞

Originally a Pagan tradition, farmers would gather the last few remaining stalks of wheat and weave them into intricate designs. They believed the weavings captured the good nature of the harvest and the weavings were kept inside all winter long to bring luck and a bountiful harvest the following year. 🌾 I’ve made some wheat weavings that will be available for purchase tomorrow, and you can even make your own harvest braid (seen on right). See previous post for event details 〰️
