A referral can be an important first step, but families often still need help navigating what comes next.

They may have questions about what services are available, how to get connected, what paperwork is needed, who to contact, or where to turn when challenges arise.

That is where Okeechobee Healthy Start Coalition (OHSC) helps. Through care coordination, education, home visiting, doula services, fatherhood support, and community partnerships, OHSC helps families move from receiving a referral to connecting with support.

Access to care is about more than sharing information - it is about helping families understand their options, take the next step, and stay connected during pregnancy and early parenting.

That is part of what Prenatal Care Close to Home means.

🍂 September is here, and the school-year routine is officially in full swing. 💗
Between school drop-offs, appointments, activities, work, and everything else on your plate, it can be easy to put yourself last.

Motherhood Unfiltered is your space to slow down for an hour, connect with other moms, share, laugh, listen, and simply be around people who understand the ups and downs of motherhood.

We also offer a free kids' group, led by licensed therapist Megan Clements, for little ones who aren't in school yet. While they're in a safe, nurturing environment, you can fully participate and enjoy some time for yourself.

Let September be your reminder that your well-being belongs on the schedule, too. 💗

📅 Tuesday, September 8

Pregnancy and early parenting often come with questions: Who can help explain the next step? What happens after a referral? Where can families turn when they need guidance, resources, or support?

No family should have to navigate those moments alone.

Through care coordination, home visiting, doula support, fatherhood programming, and community partnerships, Okeechobee Healthy Start Coalition helps connect families to the support, information, and resources they need at every stage of the journey.

That's what Prenatal Care Close to Home means.

Do you have questions or aren't sure where to start? Our CONNECT Program can help. Call us at 772-577-1441 to learn about available resources and support for you and your family.

In a rural community, accessing pregnancy and early parenting support can involve more than scheduling an appointment. It may mean finding reliable transportation, understanding a referral, locating available resources, balancing work and family responsibilities, or simply knowing where to turn when questions arise.

When support feels far away or difficult to navigate, having trusted local connections can make all the difference.

Okeechobee Healthy Start Coalition helps families navigate these challenges through education, care coordination, referrals, home visiting services, doula support, fatherhood programs, and connections to community resources.

As we prepare for Giving Tuesday on December 1, a global generosity movement dedicated to supporting organizations that make a difference close to home, we'll continue sharing why our commitment to Prenatal Care Close to Home matters for Okeechobee families.
