We need lifeguards and pool managers!

It’s getting closer to time to open the swimming pool. If you want to be a lifeguard or pool manager this year, now is the time to look for classes before they are all booked. We might be able to help find classes or pay for the certification. Please come get an application at town hall!

A wildfire risk will continue across Oklahoma for the next few days. Please stay alert and help protect our communities, firefighters, and natural resources. One spark is all it takes.

• Avoid any activities that could spark a fire
• Check any recent outdoor burns to ensure they are fully extinguished
• Make sure trailer chains are not dragging
• Avoid driving off-road or parking in grassy areas
• Delay outdoor welding or grinding until conditions improve

The streets around Town hall are being paved this morning. It’s best if you call if you need assistance today. If you have to come to yhr office for something, you will need to use the alley off Oklahoma Ave to get to the office.

There is work being done to the road in front of the office. If you need to come to the office, you will want to come down the alley off West Oklahoma.

The Okeene Fire Department will be testing sirens today, March 5, 2026, between 1:30-1:45 pm.

The town smells Smokey right now and we are told it is coming through town from a control burn South of Ringwood.

With the warmer weather, it reminds us that it won't be long, and it will be pool season. If you are interested, it's time to start looking for Lifeguard Certification classes before they are all full.

The Town of Okeene is taking applications for a Pool Manager and Lifeguards. Pool employees are required to have Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. Pickup applications at Town Offices located at 118 W. Madison. The Town of Okeene is an EOE.
