Join us Sept. 22 for the 2026 Martha Jean Lemon Distinguished Speaker Series highlighting OKC’s role in the LA28 Olympic Games.

OKC Mayor/Dean David Holt will host a panel featuring key leaders of the Oklahoma City Olympic effort: Michael Byrnes, president of Team OKC, Craig Cress, CEO of USA Softball, Inc., and Mike Knopp, founder of RIVERSPORT and longtime OCU employee.

They will provide insights into the city’s preparations to host the Olympic Canoe Slalom and Softball events beginning 7 p.m. in OCU's Meinders School of Business.

This event is free and open to the public.

Team Senate District 30 enjoyed the OKC economic outlook with the Federal Reserve of Kansas City. While some parts of the economy are thriving, they made clear the gains are not consistent for all people across the state or all industries. I appreciate their well-rounded outlook of our economy.

As drought conditions continue, a reminder that OKC is on an odd/even watering schedule year-round. If your address ends in an odd number you can use sprinklers on odd-numbered days. If it ends in an even number you can use sprinklers on even days.

Capitol conversations are starting back up this month! We will have two in-person options in September and November at the State Capitol and two virtual options on Zoom in October and December.

I was so grateful to learn more about the OKC Indian Clinic’s important mission and work to improve health for many people. They integrate primary care, behavioral health, dental care and more in their clinics to improve access for their Native American patients.

Thanks to CEO Robyn Sunday-Allen and the whole team that showed me around.

We were glad to welcome Senator Julia Kirt to Oklahoma City Indian Clinic! During her visit, Senator Kirt spent time with staff in our Pharmacy, Resource Center and Dental Department to learn more about the services we provide and the patients we serve.

It was a great opportunity for our staff to share what they do each day and how their work helps patients get the care and support they need. We appreciate Senator Kirt taking the time to visit, listen and learn more about OKCIC and the people behind our services. Thank you Senator Kirt!
