Oklahoma's new DUI law takes effect November 1. Beginning then, two or more DUI violations within one year can be charged as a single felony. Prosecutors across the state just spent two days training on it, alongside the law enforcement partners they work with every day.

# # # MULTIPLE SEARCH WARRANTS EXECUTED
TODAY IN SEQUOYAH COUNTY. # # # # #

In a joint investigation with investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, District 27 Drug Task Force (DTF), and Sallisaw Police Department, we conducted multiple search warrants throughout Sequoyah County today.

The coordinated investigation resulted in the seizure of multiple fi****ms, trafficking amounts of methamphetamine, packaging materials, digital scales, and other items associated with the distribution of controlled substances.

As a result of the investigation, multiple felony charges will be filed.

(At this time, names are being withheld while the investigation remains ongoing. Additional arrests and charges are anticipated as investigators continue to follow leads and process evidence)

Sheriff Lane stated, “This is another great example of what can be accomplished when local law enforcement agencies work together. Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, the District 27 DTF and Sallisaw Police Department continue to work hard to identify those who are bringing dangerous drugs and illegal activity into our communities. This investigation is far from over.”

We would like to thank the investigators and officers from all three agencies for their hard work and dedication.

More information will be released as it becomes available.

The conversations we have today shape the lives we protect tomorrow.

The Beyond Awareness Educational Summit is more than a conference. It's where educators, law enforcement, medical professionals, counselors, social workers, faith leaders, parents, and community members come together with one purpose: protecting children.

This November, we're bringing together nationally recognized experts and local leaders to equip our community with the knowledge and tools needed to recognize, prevent, and respond to child trafficking and exploitation.

Invite a colleague. Register your team. Share this post with someone who is passionate about protecting children. Together, we can build a community that is informed, equipped, and ready to make a difference.

The fight against child trafficking begins with awareness, but it doesn't end there. It ends when communities choose to act.

Register today and be part of the movement.
