Amari J. Fennoy, NAACP National Mobilization Director, recently shared the following important information and insights about voting in the upcoming general election.
November 3, 2026 Election Day will be here before we know it! The most important thing to do right now is make a plan to vote and help your family, friends, and community do the same. Whether you’re voting early, applying to vote by mail and/or voting by mail, or voting on Election Day, having a plan can help ensure you are prepared and ready to make your voice heard.
The NAACP has created two free toolkits to help voters get ready:
“We the People: Vote Toolkit” - Access ready-to-use graphics, sample social media posts, and messaging to encourage voter participation in your community.
“We the People: Election Protection Toolkit” - Get resources that walk voters through every step of the voting journey and explain what to do if you experience problems at the polls.

The NAACP National Voter Education Week, October 5-9, 2026, is a civic holiday focused on educating voters via a series of activations and town halls that give voters the tools to cast their ballots with confidence and ensure their voices are heard. A couple of sessions
During Voter Education Week, the NAACP provides the resources and the strategies Black voters need to navigate election season, understand what is at stake, and take action in their communities. But our work does not stop at the ballot box. Together, we are building the knowledge, engagement, and collective power needed to strengthen Black political power and build a more representative democracy.
We invite you to join us throughout National Voter Education Week and beyond for conversations, trainings, and activations designed to educate, engage, empower and mobilize communities across the country. Together, we can turn voter education into voter action and continue building Black political power beyond Election Day.
So far the NAACP has already presented sessions entitled “From the Classroom to the Ballot Box: A National Voter Education Week Town Hall,” and the National Black Man Voter Day Rally Call.
Upcoming October Activations include WE THE PEOPLE WIN: When Black Women Lead, Democracy Wins, on Thursday, October 12, 2026, a powerful conversation about moving from participation to power. Through the lens of the NAACP's Civic Engagement priorities, panelists will explore what Black women need, deserve, and should expect from elected leaders, institutions, and democracy itself.
The discussion will challenge attendees to think beyond Election Day and consider how civic education, advocacy, organizing, and community leadership can drive lasting change.
