Ms. Wheelchair Kansas 2016-Tiffany Walter

Ms. Wheelchair Kansas 2016-Tiffany Walter My goal as Ms.Wheelchair Kansas for 2016 is to encourage everyone that you don't have to be strong t What I hope to accomplish throughout my reign as Ms.

Wheelchair Kansas for 2016 is to encourage everyone that our weaknesses can become our greatest assets for accomplishing goals and overcoming obstacles, if we are willing to embrace them. In fact, God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame those which are mighty [1 Cor. 1:27]. I believe the greatest lesson I have learned as a person living with a disability is that is okay to dep

end on others for help because it has caused me to look beyond myself to the ultimate source of my strength and that it why I view my disability as a gift from God. Therefore, I will gladly boast of my weaknesses that the power of Christ might be seen in me! [2 Cor. 12:9b]. That is why I'm not ashamed to say I was afraid to even compete for the title of Ms. Wheelchair Kansas because of the responsibilities that it would entail, not to mention the fact that I don’t necessarily enjoy speaking in public; I don't travel well; and I don't have the ideal mode of transportation or the finances to adequately support myself in this endeavor, so it would seem like all odds are against me, right? Then, I came across a friend's Facebook post about two months ago that has resonated with me ever since, as he asked the question, β€œCan you meet your expectations on your own strength and skill? If so, then you probably need to set your expectations higher.” Therefore, I am exactly where I need to be. Consequently, I am confident that this is exactly what I am supposed to be doing because I have the assurance that, even with faith as small as a mustard seed, these mountains of obstacles can and will be moved. Nothing is impossible with God!

What a fun night complete with my first limo ride! Got the best of both worlds...I was able to volunteer and be a guest, so I got to greet the guests and be pampered at the same time! Tim Tebow Foundation Westside Family Church Mission Church

Here's the official photo with Mayor Copeland (Aubrey-left, Me-middle, Carrie-right, Mayor-far right . What an honor it was to come together with Aubrey and Carrie Greenwood to be recognized and raise awareness for the Ms. Wheelchair Kansas program. May we represent Olathe well!

Mayor Copeland proclaimed July 19 as Ms. and Little Miss Wheelchair Kansas Day in honor of Olatheans Aubrey May (left) and Tiffany Walter (center). Also pictured is State Coordinator and former Miss Wheelchair Kansas Carrie Greenwood. Please give a "shout out" to Miss Wheelchair Kansas Tiffany Walter as she prepares to compete at the National Miss Wheelchair Pageant Aug. 8-14!

So thankful to everyone who donated goodies for round 2 of my bake sale and for Tractor Supply's manager and assistant manger who were so willing to help us set this up. The tent, tables, and even an idustrial sized fan were provided to make the experience go as smoothly as possible. In addition, we were allowed to store some of the melty treats in their refrigerator until we needed them!

Last Friday (July 15), I had the privilege of serving on the alumni panel for Kansas Youth Leadership Forum for students with disabilities, alongside 4 other former delegates. As I answered questions about my experience as a YLF delegate, I was reminded of just how long it had been since I attended the forum.
