This campaign is all about getting you stuck in your fears and remain disconnected from the part of you who believes that everyone deserves to be paid equitably for their labor.

Prop 1 is only harmful to those who believe your labor is not worth their investment.

Olympia, please take the time to learn more about Prop 1 before casting your vote in the upcoming election.

This measure may have good intentions for helping people get ahead as things get increasingly more unaffordable, but it will do more harm than helping.

It piles on more rules, more costs, and more red tape on our local businesses and nonprofits. The very groups that create jobs, feed families, and keep our community strong will be the ones hurt most.

The measure requires the City to enforce new regulations and our current budget will be significantly impacted by the costs to enforce these new requirements.

Businesses and non-profits are barely recovered from the pandemic. Some are still trying to survive. We now have high inflation and tariffs that drive up costs to our businesses and weakens our nonprofits. Our City Council will also consider raising the business and occupation tax retail rate to help close the gap on this year’s budget. Now, Prop 1 threatens to pile on more regulations under these economic conditions.

Those costs will be passed on to you!

We can’t afford a measure that makes it harder to run a business, harder to serve the community, and escalates our affordability crisis.

NO to hurtful regulations.
NO to higher costs for Olympians.
NO to fewer opportunities for business and nonprofit workers.

Olympia deserves solutions that do not hurt our residents and our local economy.

🗳️ Vote NO on Prop 1 to protect Olympia from this harmful measure.

Happy Transgender Day of Visibility Washingtonians! This year, the Washington State LGBTQ Commission was proud to request that Governor Bob Ferguson recognize today as TDOV. We know that now, more than ever, our transgender and gender-nonconforming community needs to be uplifted, celebrated, and valued.

You can download a copy of this resolution to share on our website or by visiting the link in our bio. You can also share this post as one way to show your support for the transgender community today – but there is so much more you can do! Some examples of great TDOV activities include volunteering with a local transgender/LGBTQ+ nonprofit, shopping at trans-owned businesses, or just spending good quality time with your transgender friends, family, and community.

To transgender Washingtonians: today and every day, the Washington State LGBTQ Commission is committed to ensuring an effective means of advocating in state government and making Washington a space place for all – regardless of gender identity or expression.

“A criminal sentence is not supposed to be a death sentence.”
No matter what your status is, everyone deserves access to the care they need to survive. Trump’s extreme deportation policies are endangering lives. It’s cruel, inhumane, and must stop.

Today marks an important cutoff in the legislature: the house of origin cutoff! All bills have to make it off the floor of their respective chambers by the end of the day to continue being considered in the legislative process. The last bill to be considered to move on today must be read in by 5pm tonight.

After today, bills begin to go through the same process they did in their first chamber: being introduced on the floor and referred to committee, with the potential of receiving a committee hearing and advancing in the process – except this time it is in the opposite chamber.

“We reject any efforts to marginalize transgender youth in our schools. As Democrats, we believe in policies that foster belonging and protect every student’s right to an education and extracurricular experience free from harm and prejudice,” Thurston County Democrats wrote. “We stand with our trans students, their families, and the educators working to create safe, inclusive schools in Thurston County and beyond."

“Election Day is coming,” the group added.

Thurston County Democrats, an affiliate of the Washington State Democratic Party, stood firm in support of transgender students and “their right” to participate fully in public school …
