Convention season is approaching, and LD22 is already preparing to ensure our community has a strong, representative voice at the state level. Self-nominations for Delegate begin in January, and we are encouraging democrats across the LD to consider running - We will be hosting a forum between February and March for Candidates running.

New or experienced, your voice can help shape the platform. If we want a Democratic Party that reflects the people of Thurston County, we need broad, diverse participation.

As we mark Independence Day, we do so with pride, reflection, and purpose.

This day honors a radical act of defiance - the decision to break from monarchy and declare that government must serve the people. That legacy of courage and vision remains our inheritance. But we also recognize that the struggle for freedom and equality is far from finished.

In this moment of national uncertainty - where rights are under threat, division runs deep, and many feel left behind - we are called not to despair, but to recommit.

Ours is a diverse and complicated nation. And yet, our shared hope for progress, justice, and dignity for all remains unshaken. As Democrats, we know that patriotism is not blind allegiance - it is the choice to build a better country.

Today, as we celebrate the 4th of July, we are reminded that we have a choice: to focus on the America we believe in and fight for it, or to surrender to cynicism. Let us choose the path of action, compassion, and solidarity.

The dream of America was never meant to be static - it was meant to grow. And together, we will keep pushing forward.

🟥🟧🟨 This June, we honor both Juneteenth and Pride Month — two milestones in the ongoing movement toward freedom, justice, and equity. 🟩🟦🟪

Each of these commemorations marks a powerful legacy of resistance: the struggle for Black liberation and the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. These aren’t just celebratory moments — they are calls to action. They remind us that our freedom was never freely given — it was demanded, earned, fought for.

And today, we’re still fighting. Across the country, the far right — including Trump-aligned politicians — is waging a coordinated campaign to roll back our rights, silence our voices, and divide our communities. From attacks on bodily autonomy and trans youth to book bans and voting restrictions, the stakes are rising.

But here in LD 22, we know that our movements are strongest when they are united. We stand in intersectional solidarity — because when we protect Black lives, q***r lives, trans lives, we protect democracy itself.

💪🏾 Let’s continue to show up. Let’s vote. Let’s organize. Let’s build a future rooted in justice, joy, and liberation for all.
