City of Omaha Tire Collection Event:

Please read carefully.

“Coming up August 15: the City of Omaha will host the second of three tire collection events! From 9am-2pm at 1818 Jayne Street in North Omaha, Omaha residents may bring old tires (with rims removed) for proper disposal. Tire collection is open to all City of Omaha households at no cost. Restrictions apply, and there is a maximum of sixteen tires per vehicle, per day. (Note: Must be a Nebraska-plated vehicle delivering tires.) Only residential tires are accepted; tires from businesses prohibited. Residents are responsible for unloading their own vehicles, as no assistance will be provided. For detailed information, visit Tires.Wasteline.org.”

Be careful what you dispose. Pressurized cylinders do not go in the carts. Neither do any rechargable batteries or electronics. These Milwaukee workers were very lucky to only have minor injuries.

Improperly disposed oxygen tanks explode in a garbage truck and injure a sanitation worker.

Fireworks and cookout ashes must be doused with water before disposing. This garbage hauler is very luck this fire wasn’t much worse.
