Support if you can. The Oneonta Veteran's Outreach Center is in need of help. Below is a post shared by a local veteran and a dear friend of mine.

Community Call for Donations

The Oneonta Veteran's Outreach Center is in urgent need of donations. I stopped by today, and the shelves are nearly bare. Now more than ever, our local veterans could use our support.

Most Needed Items:
• Rice (instant or microwaveable preferred)
• Shelf-stable microwaveable meals (such as Compleats and similar options)
• Salad dressings, barbecue sauce, ketchup, ranch, and seasonings
• Butter or margarine
• Prepackaged snacks for kids' and adults' lunchboxes
• Cleaning supplies, disinfectant sprays, and laundry detergent
• Cereal (they are completely out)
• Cheese
• Crackers and other snack items

While treats are not a priority, many pantry recipients rarely get them. Donations of cookies, candy, or soda can provide a small but meaningful comfort for our veterans.

Additional Needs:
• Baked goods for Thursday morning AA meetings
•birthday cake kits assembled by community groups, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, or other organizations (include all ingredients and a recipe for a complete cake)

If you live outside the Oneonta area and would still like to help, gift cards to local grocery stores are greatly appreciated. Staff can use them to purchase needed items, support veteran meals, and help keep pantry shelves stocked.

Every donation makes a difference. Even adding an extra $5–$10 worth of items to your grocery cart over the next few weeks could help ensure our veterans do not go hungry this summer.

Please donate only unexpired food and items that you would feel comfortable serving to your own family. Expired donations cannot be distributed and create additional work for the volunteers who serve our veterans.

Please message me with any questions. Let's come together and show our veterans that this community cares!

Renovations to the Oneonta town pool are expected to be completed soon, allowing the summer swim season to start by late June, town officials said.

Grew up in public housing on the Lower East Side in Alfred E. Smith Houses. Over 20 years in Oneonta now. Still Boricua, 200 miles from the nearest piragua cart.

Bad Bunny put it on the Grammy stage this year. Puerto Rico is bigger than 100 by 35.

We’ve always known that. We don’t shrink to fit a place. We make it bigger. 🇵🇷

Attention:
There will be a traffic pattern change beginning June 15th for the Southside Sidewalk project construction.

The Phase I portion of the project includes Route 23 westbound in the Town of Oneonta from the Mall/Well Now Plaza to the Lettis Highway/McDonalds intersection. Traffic in the westbound lane will be slightly shifted towards the south for this phase. The right turn lane from Route 23 to the Lettis Highway will not be available, right turning traffic will be combined with the through lane.
There will be no actual lane closures or detours in effect for this phase.

Grateful for this endorsement from
Boosting Future Leaders Onward. This is exactly the kind of support that reminds me why we do this work.

Oneonta and communities all across New York need leaders who show up not just on election day, but every day after.

That is what this campaign is about. Still moving. For all of us.

We are proud to announce we have endorsed Will Rivera for Oneonta Supervisor in New York.

The Town Supervisor of Oneonta and a lifelong public servant, Will and his wife moved to Oneonta as a young couple and built a life rooted in community, service, and accountability. As Supervisor, Will has focused on protecting water and land, strengthening transparency, advancing affordable housing, and standing up to harmful corporate development.

He is running for re-election to keep putting people first and ensuring Town Hall works for everyone. Learn more about Will: https://willriverafornewyork.com/
