Frederick Law Olmsted made an appearance at historic Forest Hall in Milford, PA. It was a community meeting place built by the Pinchot family as a 1903 addition to the US Post Office designed by Calvert Vaux in 1863.

It was a full house. The crowd came to hear about FLO's partnership with a young Gifford Pinchot at his first forestry job for George Vanderbilt at Biltmore.

It was a day full to overflowing with historic PA associations. Thank Linda Pinto for the invitation. Lunch followed immediately after the talk. Photos provided by my able assistant Sara E. Stine Brown.

This statue of Allentown's First Defender Monument is testament to the first group of soldiers who raced to Washington DC when it was threatened by rebel troops at the start of the Civil War. It stands in West Park.

Presentations 300 years in the making! Sometimes, it seems almost that long for me to assemble the photographs. John Bartram and I have gone back to our friends and original sources to talk about how plants thrive in our gardens.

The start of a beautiful month of industry networking! On the road with talks, tours, and travels! For the 23rd Annual Perennial School, I have to thank Pam J. Bennett. We've known each other for years across membership in GardenComm, Perennial Plant Association, and AmericanHort.

This talk will be in memory of Gifford Pinchot: one of the finest Foresters and Arborists that this country ever produced. He was also Governor of Pennsylvania and right hand conservationist to none other than Teddy Roosevelt.
