Recall Dan Holladay

Recall Dan Holladay Citizens of Oregon City are uniting to demand ethical and accountable leadership from the mayor’s office. Join us.

All four Oregon City Commissioners want to see Dan Holladay resign, but only we, the people, have the power to remove him from office.

Dear Friends,

When I sought appointment to the City Commission last year, it was with the intention of providing stability during a tumultuous time for our city. We had just recalled our mayor, elected a new one, and were preparing to fill a vacant commission position. In light of former Mayor Rachel Lyles Smith’s resignation earlier this year and Commissioner Frank O’Donnell’s recent leave of absence, I have decided that the need for stability in city leadership is not yet over.

As the leading voice on the Commission fighting back against ODOT’s unfair tolling scheme, an advocate for strong public safety, and a lifelong resident of Oregon City concerned with affordability, I believe I am uniquely equipped to continue serving our community on the City Commission. I look forward to chatting with you about the issues important to you and I hope to earn your vote!

Proudly endorsed by:
Oregon City Mayor-elect Denyse McGriff
Oregon City Commissioners Rocky Smith and Frank O’Donnell
Former Oregon City Mayors Rachel Lyles Smith, Alice Norris, Dan Fowler, and John Williams
Oregon City Planning Commissioners Mike Mitchell and Bob LaSalle
Oregon City School Board Director Michele Stroh
Brandi Johnson, Homeless Services Advocate/Nonprofit Leader
Clackamas County Commissioners Martha Schrader, Paul Savas, and Sonya Fischer
Metro Councilor Christine Lewis
State Senator Bill Kennemer
Former Clackamas Co. Commissioner and OR House Majority Leader Ed Lindquist
West Linn City Councilors Rory Bialostosky and Mary Baumgardner

Please note: the Committee to Recall Dan Holladay, which operates from this page, is a separate entity from the “Recall Dan Holladay” Facebook group. Both groups are striving to change the culture of civic engagement in Oregon City, but they are not affiliated. Just like our peers in the Recall Dan Holladay Facebook group, we hope that every eligible Oregon City voter will take the time to vote in today’s special election. You have until 8pm to drop your ballot off to an official dropbox (one is at City Hall and the other is at the Clackamas County Elections Office).

We wish all the best to whoever wins the election and extend our deepest gratitude to those who put in the time and energy to run for mayor. Our city can only heal when more people get involved in local government.

(The Committee to Recall Dan Holladay has not endorsed a candidate for mayor.)

It’s official. The vote has been certified and Dan Holladay was notified today that he no longer serves as Oregon City’s mayor.

The work, however, is not done. Each one of us must remain engaged in cultivating our community. We must stay involved in and informed about the decisions that chart the path forward for Oregon City.

As a next step, there will be a special election in March to elect a new mayor.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our dedicated volunteers. You gave your nights, weekends and any free time in between to this historic campaign for ethical and accountable leadership. Beyond pride in our collective success, we feel fortunate to know more of our neighbors and have a stronger sense of community.

We hope this level of energy and enthusiasm that resulted in record voter turnout remains for years to come. As we look ahead to electing a new mayor in March, continued engagement will be imperative for the success of our city.

Thank you, and the work continues.
