BUILDโ€ SUBMISSIONS BY SEPTEMBER 8th!

If land may be taken for the โ€œpublic good,โ€ who is that public-citizens, commuters or interests positioned to benefit?

Tell FDOT: โ€œI request NO-BUILD for FPIDs 451419-3, 455878-1 and 455879-1โ€”from US 27 to north of US 17/92.โ€ Link in my bio to leave a public comment, or directly email the project managers.

Add your Polk connection and choose 2-3 concerns:

โ€ข Changed project: The earlier concept was nearly 28 miles tron
SR 60 to US 17/92. The current proposal is about 18.4 miles starting at US 27.

Prove it still fulfills the original purpose - since it originally was meant to alleviate US27, which it now concentrates more traffic on.

โ€ข Homes and fairness: About 313 parcels and 918 acres could be affected; relocations are undetermined. Disclose who shaped route changes, which properties were avoided and how homesteads were weighed against land development and investor-held land.

โ€ข Time and cost: The preliminary estimate is about $1.5 billion; right-of-way and construction remain unfunded, with potential ground breaking at least a decade away.

โ€ข Water, wildlife and land: Require route-specific karst, aquifer and hydrogeological testing before selecting Build. Value farms, wetlands, floodplains and recharge areas as working green infrastructure. Analyze fragmentation and interchange-driven growth affecting the Florida Wildlife Corridor.

โ€ข Military readiness: Document coordination with the Avon Park Air Force Range Sentinel Landscape and analyze induced development, lighting, towers, drones and incompatible growth.

โ€ข Better solutions: NO-BUILD does not mean do nothing.

Just awful, and in my opinion, the development should be stalled for 2 months or more, mandate a reduction in its size and require donation of 5 acres more to conservation

We cannot have reckless developers tearing up wild Florida and really only getting a slap on the wrist.

Forest Development tore out 7,000 sq ft of protected mangroves in Cape Coral and still hasnโ€™t paid the small fine. Itโ€™s small to a developer who paid $20 million for the site.

Speak at Henry County Commissioner meeting at the City Commission Chambers in Clewiston, Florida.

Jahna Mines want to develop on 1300 acres of wild and rural Florida, and the mining could damage the Hawthorne Aquifer and remove hundreds of acres of wild Florida forever.
