Last night’s 30-minute budget workshop was a masterclass in the "Shell Game." They moved numbers around just enough to get a "budget cut" headline, but the bottom line? Exactly the same. The millage rate? Exactly the same. The dinner we paid for? Probably delicious. 🍽️

What happened to the 2026 Budgeted Bond Proceeds? 🧐

As of right now, no bond has been approved for this fiscal year, yet the money is missing from the 2027 Proposed Budget. Where was that money spent, or where is it being transferred? We deserve a clear answer.

TONIGHT, Aug 25th, is another budget workshop. According to Finance, NOTHING HAS CHANGED since the last workshop. Despite sound bites suggesting changes were coming, it appears no direction was given to staff to make any cuts or additions.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: The public is NOT allowed to speak during the workshop. However, you can address the commission during the regular meeting that follows at 7pm.
