We are currently not operating right now due to the DHS shutdown. As soon that changes we will try and post an update to let everyone know. Thank you for your understanding of this situation and we look forward to seeing yall in the near future.

For those that don't know, this is a youth program to provide education on a wide range of first responder careers. The age range is 14 to 20 years of age. We encourage anyone who has an interest in law enforcement to attend and see what we have to offer. Our instructors are great and all covered under Learning For Life and Scouting of America.

It's not easy to get all these young adults together as many of them are active in sports, have part time jobs, and always seem to have homework. But today we had 12 explorers show up to help pick up garbage on the side of the road. They battled some rough wind there for a bit but they did great and had a blast. They filled 12 large garbage bags of trash and collected several larger items as well. We would also like to share some of the credit with the people who cleaned several bags of trash along Hwy 97 last week.

The Oroville Explorers will be cleaning the garbage along Hwy 97 starting Sunday at noon at Super Duper and heading south to West Lake Road. They cleaned the same stretch last July and removed 15 large bags of trash and several large items as well. If you happen to be driving in the area, please keep an eye out for them.

The Oroville Explorers along with Blaine and Spokane Explorers participated in a summer Law Enforcement Explorer Academy in Yakima. The academy was an intense week for them that presented many challenges. They learned lots of material and suffered through the hot week. This wouldn't have been possible without the support of our communities. All expenses for the Oroville Explorers were covered from the fundraiser in April. Thank you again to all our local businesses and community members for your continued support!
