Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush used to talk on the phone when the latter was in office.

They did this despite their major disagreements and being from different parties.

This is a reminder that our disagreements and our differences don't have to keep us from talking to each other.

Have you ever had to silence yourself during a political discussion?

Doesn't feel great, does it? The truth is we all experience this from time to time. We hold back instead of sharing our perspective out of fear. Fear of offending someone, fear of being misunderstood, fear of being "wrong."

Don't get us wrong, these days it can be intimidating to wade into political dialgoue. But it's important to remember that dialogue is for everyone.

As long as we proceed with a genuine desire to understand one another, connection and learning are always possible.

Keep having those conversations, even when they're tough. And follow for more content on civil politics!

We need more ads like this in election years!

Six years ago, when they were running for governor of Utah, and decided to do things a bit differently. They saw how divisive politics had become (especially during the pandemic) and wanted to try and move the needle back toward civility and respect.

So they did something kind of crazy: They shot a campaign ad...together.

We like how it turned out. It's a reminder that even though we may disagree on nearly everything, we do not have to hate each other.

With more elections to come this year, let's remember that message. And subscribe to for more civility-minded content!

Nine months ago, our CEO, , asked a fundamental question: Why does any of this matter? Why does building bridges matter?

Throughout this past school year, we've seen the answer. We saw what happens when anger and political resentment go unchecked. And worse, we saw too many people give in to that culture of division.

But thankfully, we also saw people stand away from the crowd. Thousands of young people on college campuses refused to allow political violence to "win" by silencing political discourse.

and our 150+ chapters led the way.

This school year, we hosted more than 350 discussions and more than 27,000 students. We launched more than 50 new chapters. All of it student-led and truly grassroots.

This is what a movement looks like. Thank you for making 2025-2026 our biggest year ever.

Who else misses when politics sounded like this?

John McCain showed us how to disagree with our opponents without disrespecting them. We could use a little more of that today.

If you're tired of how divided and disrespectful our politics have become, check us out.

We're a movement of college students fighting political division on campus. And our discussions feature of lot of the same kind of respect and civility showed here.

Congratulations, grads!

And a special shoutout to all bridge builders moving on to their next incredible chapter!

The skills you've developed through your time on campus (and with BridgeUSA) will last a lifetime and will help you navigate an increasingly divided world.

But that's a good thing because it's when things feel most divided that bridge builders have the most strength and opportunity.

So put those skills to the test. And never stop building bridges. Congratulations!
