Well, they get $19.9 million, and that wasn't enough. Now they want another $1.675 million in a Non-Tax Payer Levy.

They don't even have the money in the bank for the first Referendum, and they are already wanting more.

Another fun fact....If this doesn't go through, your current levy lines would be off your taxes come 2027. Meaning you would have a tax break.

If you believe the 2026 Osakis ISD 213 Referendum was mis-leading or deceiving please click the link below. More than a handful of Osakis tax payers have came fourth with concerns regarding; Tax Impact, lack of Absentee ballots, deceiving information, and a list of other issues. There should be a re-vote on this referendum once the true numbers are displayed and the community is fully aware of what's going on.

Sign the below petition if you feel anything was deceiving about the Referendum.

Again, one of the biggest issues is the fact the tax impact charts/Calculator showed a small amount for your yearly burden. But in reality that was only the difference from the prior Referendum from 24 years ago, and the current. Your true tax impact is what you've been paying, PLUS what the impact charts shows. You'll be paying this the next 25 years unless something is done.

From talking to a fair amount of people in town I think you may have been mislead.

Tomorrow is the big day! If you want lower property taxes, make sure to get to the community center and VOTE NO for the school Referendum. The current Levies and Referendums will be paid off come next tax season, and those lines will no longer be on your taxes. If this goes through, you'll have another 25 years of school Levies and Referendums tacked on. Like others have mentioned, there will be more money wanted in 5 years, 10 years, etc.

I think a lot could be focused on at our school like math skills, reading proficiency, and spelling.

It seems really foolish that 19.9 million dollars is WANTED, not needed, for a gym, auditorium. Etc. Like always, there's certain things that the school could use, but where is the focus on actual academics.

Our 1st grader came home with a valentines days list of classmates. To really be baffled there was 20 students, with 6 - Para's (Helper Teachers) along with her main teacher on the list. 7 Adults for 20 kids in a 1st grade class. That doesn't make much sense to me. If there's a 1 adult to 3 child average, you would think math, reading, and writing scores would be higher.

Hopefully this referendum gets voted down for the 3rd time. Last time it was voted down there was a list of ideas that the school could pursue to move forward. Did any of these options actuality get looked into before it just got pushed again?

The claim that "a lot of thought got put into this 19.9 million dollar referendum" is a joke. The words barely left the survey/studies professionals mouth when the school board chimed in with "what does a 19.9 million dollar referendum look like?"

Hopefully the citizens/Tax payers of ISD 213 put another end to the WANTS. It's a shame the property owners who pay the most aren't allowed to vote for this. The lake shore owners who don't have their place as a permanent address have no say, but will ultimately pay the most.

Either way, get out and VOTE!

Someone makes perfect sense about this school Referendum. Our test scores are down. Student proficiency down. But we want 19.9 million dollars for a gym, and auditorium? Make sure to get out and vote on February 10th, 2026. VOTE NO.

If you want to school Levi and referendum line off your taxes, and actually see a good tax break for the first time in ages, Vote this down.

The city also is in a home shortage with not having billable space. The school wants to tear 3 houses down to make a parking lot. Makes a lot of sense.

So there was 3 scenarios on "what if the referendum doesn't pass". Did we ever try pursuing any of the alternatives? Or did we just keep pushing for another referendum?

They are proposing a 3.1% Levy for the school to the amount of $2,375,904. And they still want referendum for $19.9 Million.....

Maybe our Superintendent needs a pay cut.....

If you want to really save money and have lower property taxes, VOTE NO for the school Referendum. The current school Levies and Referendums we are paying taxes on will be paid off in 2027. Removing those lines from your property taxes. This residents taxes are currently 29% being paid for CURRENT school Levies and Referendums. Which means if this referendum doesn't pass, he will have 29% lower taxes come 2027. If this passes roughly 35% off their proptery taxes will be going directly to school Levies and Referendums.

The city also just did a pretty drastic Levy, which will also impact your taxes. The elderly, and fixed income families are the ones who are going to be impacted the most. They don't need increased taxes as much as the rest of us.

Open enrollment is most of the reason they "want" these Referendums. The school takes in millions each year in state and government kick backs for the open enrollment students. They should be using this money smarter, and making improvements that won't cost the tax payers drastically.

Well, Justin Dahlheimer is pushing the topic for a 3rd time.

Now, a "reduced" priced referendum at $19.9 million dollars. This is going to be voted on February 10, 2026 in the Ed Pollard Community center in Osakis. (Early voting begins December 26th, 2025)

Here's the truth to the numbers:
$19,900,000 at the interest rate as published of 5.24% with an annual payment at the term of 25 years will end up costing you, the tax payer $35,955,164.75 total over the 25 years. This is done on an amortization schedule, simple math.

I think we as the tax payers should be informed to what pushing this agenda 3 times over the course of 6 years has cost. The man hours, the cost of surveys, drawings, etc.

If you want your taxes to go down, Vote NO. All the prior school Levies and Referendums will be paid off come 2027, and those lines on your taxes will be gone. The public has voted, and spoken twice on you topic and they keep shoving it down our throats.
