Rachelle Koenig - Oswego Village Trustee

Rachelle Koenig - Oswego Village Trustee Long-time Oswego resident and business owner. Proud mother to two children raised in this wonderful village. Honored to give back.

Public service isn't about being right -- it's about finding common ground for the benefit of our residents. I'm deeply honored and humbled by the trust the voters in this election have placed in me as one of your newest village trustees. I pledge to be transparent, accessible, and collaborative. I will work diligently with my fellow trustees, always remembering that my primary obligation is to yo

u, the residents of Oswego. Together, we will build on our village's strengths and address our challenges with creativity and purpose. Thank you for this tremendous opportunity to serve.

Very cool contest to see some photos that capture from residents. Deadline is April 30.

There's still time to submit a photo for our 2026 Capturing Oswego Photo Contest! Also, stop by the museum beginning May 1 to vote on your favorite photo.

Pictured here is last year's photo contest winner, captured by Donald Vaccaro

Capture what makes Oswego special through photography. Submit one photo per person, taken within the Village of Oswego or School District boundaries for display at the museum. Entries are accepted April 2–30 and will be exhibited May 1–31, when visitors can vote for their favorite. The winning photo will be framed and displayed in the museum. Please email submissions to Museum Coordinator Joe Noce at [email protected] or drop them off at the Little White School Museum during our regular operating hours.

Yesterday I attended the ground breaking for the Wolf’s Crossing and Douglas Road roundabout.

A few notes about this project that I think will be of interest to residents:
- This roundabout will be built in a phased approach, which means little to no road closures.
- As was pointed out by Deputy Police Chief Yackley, roundabouts offer a safer intersection for drivers, reducing the number of conflict points from 32 to 8 and reducing the severity of accidents, if they happen.
- The project is fully funded through responsible budgeting and predominantly grants, thanks to Rep. Lauren Underwood and former Rep. Keith Wheeler - State Representative.

In my comments at last night's Village Board Meeting, I spoke about the statistic that 1 in 3 women experience sexual and physical abuse, most often perpetrated by someone they know. If you or someone you know is in need of support related to domestic and/or sexual abuse, Mutual Ground is an excellent resource.

💜 Our hearts are with the families and loved ones affected by the recent domestic violence-related deaths in our community.

Over the past few months, our communities have seen a heartbreaking number of lives lost to domestic violence. Each loss is a reminder of the urgent need for awareness, prevention, and support for those affected.

Mutual Ground is here to provide safety, resources, and hope to anyone impacted by domestic violence. We are also here to support anyone grieving the loss of a loved one to domestic violence through our quarterly grief group.

You are not alone - help, hope, and healing are available.

I’ve spent a few days processing the news that a woman in our community was killed by someone she knew. She was a wife, a mother, a daughter. She was many people’s “someone”.

May she rest in peace and may their memories of her be a blessing to her family and friends.

Heartbreaking news this morning. My deepest sympathies go out to the victims’ family and friends. I’m thinking about the Fox Chase residents whose homes were impacted and hearts were also broken by this news.

Thank you to the Oswego Fire Protection District and neighboring fire departments for working to extinguish the fire and prevent further damage to neighboring homes. And a thank you to the Village of Oswego Police, IL for providing support and keeping the public informed.
