Rachelle Koenig - Oswego Village Trustee

Rachelle Koenig - Oswego Village Trustee Long-time Oswego resident and business owner. Proud mother to two children raised in this wonderful village. Honored to give back.

Public service isn't about being right -- it's about finding common ground for the benefit of our residents. I'm deeply honored and humbled by the trust the voters in this election have placed in me as one of your newest village trustees. I pledge to be transparent, accessible, and collaborative. I will work diligently with my fellow trustees, always remembering that my primary obligation is to yo

u, the residents of Oswego. Together, we will build on our village's strengths and address our challenges with creativity and purpose. Thank you for this tremendous opportunity to serve.

Women's Equality Day commemorates the 1920 adoption of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed women the constitutional right to vote.

This is also a day to celebrate the ongoing work toward full societal, economic, and political equality for women.

I was honored to be part of a special Raksha Bandhan celebration today with Village of Oswego Police, IL, and Oswego Fire Protection District. We are lucky to have so much diversity in Oswego. Thank you to Balagokulam Naperville Aurora for your contribution to our community!

This is a fantastic program! I attended the first portion of the training and learned that the Blue Envelope program applies to drivers and passengers. Also, Oswego Village Police have launched a Citizens at Risk program for families to alert the department about loved ones who also would benefit from officers understanding their unique situation.

If you have a driver or passenger who would benefit from any of these programs, please check them out.

Today marks exactly a year since I saw the word “carcinoma” on my MyChart.

What I’m struck by most is gratitude. I almost rescheduled the routine mammogram that identified something was off. A delay in detection could have meant a later cancer stage and more aggressive treatment. As much as I dread the scans and resent the meds and their side effects, I’m in survivorship. And I owe it to every person who didn’t make it to this point to be grateful for that.

If you’re putting off a cancer screening right now, please schedule it. If you’re reeling from a result, trust your team and consider counseling to help you deal with it. If you’re in active treatment, you’ve got this. And if you’re in the throes of survivorship, I see you.

Deep breath.

The article said it, the Village said it, and now it’s our turn: Bay 54 opens Friday, July 24th.

We want to start by saying thank you. Over the last year, this project has been followed, shared, asked about, encouraged, and supported in ways we will never be able to fully explain. Every message, every conversation, every “when are you opening?” has meant something to us.

You have been excited for Bay 54 before we even had the chance to welcome you in, and we are beyond grateful for that.

Bay 54 will start to come to life on Wednesday and Thursday with private preview nights. Those nights are not open to the public, but they will give our team the chance to settle in, find our rhythm, and get ready for Friday.

On Friday, we’ll begin with a ribbon cutting at 4:00 PM, with service starting immediately after.

For our first night, we’ll be seating guests as we’re able and will not be taking reservations. We expect it to be a busy one, and there may be a wait, but we’ll be doing everything we can to get as many of you in as possible without rushing the experience. Bay 54 was built to be settled into, and we want to make sure we start that the right way.

So please bear with us, give our team a little grace, and know that we are ready to give this everything we have.

Thank you for waiting with us. Thank you for cheering us on. Now let’s finally open the doors.

Super excited about this place opening downtown Oswego!
