At approx 1120hrs this morning OFPD was dispatched by Gasconade County E-911 to the 1500blk of Hog Trough Rd for a 1st alarm residential structure fire. Units arrived on scene within 10min and found a 2 story abandoned farm house fully involved. Due to the lack of manpower and a reliable water source the call was upgraded to a 2nd alarm. As additional units arrived on scene multiple handlines were deployed for a defensive attack. Gasconade County Sheriff's Office and the MO State Fire Marshals Office were requested to the scene. Crews worked hard and brought the fire under control within an hour. Crews remained on scene for a couple of hours performing overhaul operations. No injuries were reported and the cause is undetermined at this time.
While battling this fire, OFPD was dispatched at approx 1250hrs to a rekindle in the 500blk of Springfield Rd. Washington FIre Department 8120 was providing coverage in the district and was able to respond quickly to the address. Crews found a small amount of debris smoldering in the rear of the structure and cooled the area.
At approx 1315hrs, OFPD was alerted to another 911 call involving a male stranded in a lift 40ft off the ground in the 3700blk of Hwy 19 S. Sullivan Fire Protection District 8812 was clearing the scene on Hog Trough Rd and was able to respond quickly along with Gerald-Rosebud Fire Protection District, Beaufort-Leslie Fire Protection District and Washington FIre Department. 8812 was able to quickly deploy their aerial ladder and rescue the individual. No reported injuries.
