Diego's Boys is a group in Madeira raising awareness of His legs don’t work like mine.

With the help of his friends, Ben, Will, Parker, Zach, and his two brothers Mateo and Pablo, Diego will also participate in the 5K Flying Pig Marathon race Saturday May 2nd, 2015. They have banded together forming a campaign to raise awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy calling themselves “Diego’s Boys.”

These boys, caring for their best friend, will volunteer their time to do community work

--raking leaves, selling lemonade and baked goods, picking up trash, and even cleaning up dog poop in an effort to raise money to find a cure for Duchenne. When asked what inspired this group, Diego’s friend Parker said, “I have a friend named Diego and he has Duchenne. We are trying to raise money to help the hospital find a cure so he can walk and run with his friends.”

The story of Diego’s fight to end Duchenne and the devotion of his friends to help him enjoy a life like theirs, should inspire us all, and remind us not to take for granted our ability even to walk. To donate to End Duchenne please visit:
