Last week, I spoke with the Star Democrat about the recent changes in Oxford. I find it very concerning that, in just two months, we’ve temporarily lost our post office and permanently closed the Bay Vanguard Bank.

“As a former commissioner, I’m very concerned. With the post office, there’s nothing you can do, that’s a freak accident. I’m just glad everyone made it out safely,” Jaramillo said. “But the fact that we no longer have a bank in town that local businesses depend on in order to make their business successful. It’s very concerning.”

OXFORD — Within the past two months, Oxford temporarily lost its post office and permanently closed the Bay Vanguard Bank.

I’ve enjoyed my time serving as a Commissioner for the Town of Oxford, MD. Public service is of paramount importance to me, and I appreciate the opportunity I’ve had to serve.

While I will continue the remainder of my term as a Commissioner, I have decided not to seek re-election in June so that I may focus on my family and career.

In response to Public Request, the location of this meeting has been moved to an in-person meeting at the Oxford Community Center Inc located at 200 Oxford Rd.

Due to the location change, logistics will not allow for a virtual viewing/participation option for this meeting. Anyone who cannot attend and wishes to submit a comment can provide them by email to [email protected] or hand delivery to the town office by 4 pm, February 28, 2023 and they will be read aloud at the meeting.

Tom heads to Annapolis!! Bags are packed and on my way to the State House! Busy day ahead moving into my office and hotel room. First caucus meeting today. Hopefully a little rest before an exciting swearing in day tomorrow!
