I’ve been blessed to work with some incredible people throughout my life. I’ve been surrounded by some of the most kind-hearted and hardworking individuals anyone could ask for.
This week hit me differently, though.
I watched my men push through frustration, exhaustion, and long, demanding days. I saw a crew get overwhelmed at times—but never give in. Instead, they leaned on each other and worked through it together. I watched them find ways to reuse resources to save money, take pride in their work - even when something as simple as the direction of a tree fall didn’t meet their standards after a perfect notch.
I’ve seen them figure out field repairs just to keep a boom axe running. Deal with leaking tractor tires and broken drivelines. Make quick, necessary repairs on reclaimers, soil stabilizers, and dump trucks. Hauling loads of oil sand back to the yard and out to the roads. Track fuel usage, monitor repair costs, take calls, and sometimes even put up with driving me around.
Through all of it, they never slacked off.
Watching this reminded me just how fortunate we all are - not just here, but across every precinct. I see Precinct 3 up close, but it’s humbling to think about the men everywhere doing this same work day in and day out.
What I feel most from all of this is grace.
I have grace for these men. They lead with servant hearts, and it shows in everything they do.
Thank you all for your effort, your dedication, and your hard work.
Precinct 3—I appreciate you.
God bless.
