The Lake Trail under the Flagler Bridge (Royal Poinciana Way) will be reduced to one (1) lane beginning July 7, 2025. This temporary change is necessary while the Town’s contractor reinforces the walking path and installs new handrailings. The project is anticipated to have both trail lanes reopened by Monday, July 21, 2025. This timeline is subject to change. Residents and trail users are asked to exercise caution when walking or biking through this section and be mindful of the limited access.

As a reminder, the Palm Beach Lake Trail and Bradley Park are open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Please note that motorized vehicles, including electric bikes, are not permitted on the Lake Trail to ensure safety for all trail users.

The Palm Beach Police Department is asking the community and parents to be aware of safety concerns with children and E-Bikes. E-Bikes have exploded in popularity over the last several years, and the increased speed that they provide brings safety concerns with the increase in usage among the Town’s children. Some important information regarding E-Bikes is below.

E-Bikes must have pedals, be under 750 watts, and not exceed 28 mph while powered.
If an E-Bike does not meet the above criteria, it is not an E-Bike. Anything that exceeds the above may be considered a motorcycle, must be registered, and requires a licensed driver.
Children under 16 years of age on E-Bikes must wear helmets.
E-Bikes and any other motorized devices or vehicles are not allowed on the Lake Trail.
No bicycles (including E-Bikes) are allowed on sidewalks in the Town’s commercial zoning districts.
E-Bikes must adhere to all traffic laws, including speed limits and stopping at stop signs and steady red traffic signals.

We are encouraging parents to ensure their children operate E-Bikes safely and legally and to have conversations with them about the importance of following the rules for the safety of themselves and everyone they share the road with. Palm Beach Police are investigating a suspected hit-and-run on the North End on Tuesday morning.

A 63-year-old man was riding his bicycle in the 700 block of North Lake Way when he was hit by a Range Rover, Palm Beach Fire Rescue spokesman Assistant Chief Joseph Sekula said.

The man had "massive injuries to his left leg," and he was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach on a trauma alert, Sekula said. The man was in stable condition while being transported, he added.
