Market season is here with summer in full swing, and I’m reminded of my first market last year at at - I think the best compliment I received that weekend from a fellow vendor was that it didn’t seem like it was my first show! I am grateful for all those years of attending shows and working them for friends really prepared me for what was to come. Making my fixtures and thinking about all the little details was an amazing challenge and adventure. Thankful to wonderful friends for their constant support and help each time!

A few weeks ago I wanted to have a giveaway in honor of AAPI Heritage Month, but due to the heartbreaking events that occurred, my heart felt it wasn’t right to celebrate in the midst of so much grief and pain. I have partnered with another AAPI woman-owned business that pays homage to how our culture thrives with its delicious love of food and drink. Food binds our communities together - often being central to how we gather and the way that affection is shown. Food helps us to relate with one another and care for each other. Which is why I am beginning to create more cards that speak to this connection - the first one being my “Let’s Get Boba Together Soon” card. Grabbing a pearl milk tea with a friend is a way that we use food to connect with each other. I hope that with this giveaway that you will be able to connect with someone soon too.

I’m very into purples right now, and this beautiful sunset palette has got me totally 😍! Each of these purple products has a message to and remind them of who they were made to be. Sometimes we need a bit of reminding that we are loved beyond measure and that someone cares for us.

A little back story about the lavender enamel pin in particular - I was at a breakfast conference in Hawaii last year, and during the time a sweet lady passed out red paper hearts to all the people at the tables surrounding hers. On each heart she had written words in a beautifully simple script. My heart said “cherished” on it … and I was so touched to have been given that particular word. It was a reminder of the identity I sometimes forget. So when I set out to make pins, I wanted each of them to either affirm who we are, or to encourage us to take action to remind others of who they are.

I hope you’ll consider showing someone appreciation and love today with some kind words, a few-seconds-longer-than-normal hug, or even a texted display of affection. Keep giving of your heart, just like that dear sweet lady.

These letterpressed mailer cards represent a new chapter of Love Through Letterpress … entering the wholesale game! Next week I will be attending as my debut show to the trade! I’m so excited and also can’t believe I’m here after two years of progress. Sometimes it felt like I was never going to get to this point … but I just knew I had to keep pushing despite the doubts in my mind. Here’s to all that the show may bring!

Thankful to all my business friends and colleagues for their collaboration, wisdom and support in all of it!

Ready for that life again! I’ve been off social media for a while, with the exception of the occasional creep on for a peek at how friends are doing, but mostly trying to stay off and find my creative rhythms again.

My whole family got waylaid back in January with post-holiday break Covid for all of us, quarantining us for almost 12 days … and I had a big flare up of my eczema too. What an interruption to our daily lives! After it was over I was so grateful just to connect with others again, see their smiles and hear their laughter in person. It really makes me thankful for the opportunities that we have to be in community together now.

I’m so grateful that postponed from early February to next week (3/12-3/13) to make sure cases were on the downturn. It’s going to be a fun event and I’d love to see you all there!

It kicks off on Saturday night from 5-10pm with fun mall type throwback portraits, friendship bracelet making, and on site t-shirt screen printing with our friend . Not to mention all the food and drinks you could want! Come on Sunday from 11am-4pm if you can’t make Saturday evening.

Come this weekend right in my very own backyard! I will be at the Santa Clara Convention Center on 11/26-11/28 for the San José Craft Holiday Fair with my dear and over 300 other makers and small businesses selling their products.

This indoor market by is FREE to attend and starts on Black Friday and continues through the weekend - there will be jewelry, leather goods, candles, chocolate and so much more to browse and shop!
