There's a new program coming soon to PCB Library: Middle Grades Book Club (6th - 8th grade)! Book club books become available beginning Thursday, October 1st. Kids that participate will receive their very own copy to read and keep after our program. *while supplies last

This month's read is The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. Book copies were generously funded by the Friends of the Bay County Public Libraries via a St. Joe Community Foundation Grant.

Our book club meeting is on October 24 at 1 p.m. CT. Pick up a copy of The Wild Robot on Thursday and start your reading adventure!

The Northwest Regional Library System (NWRLS) Bay County locations are launching a Little Library Readers Campaign geared for the youngest library patrons starting on Tuesday, September 29 at 10:00 a.m. CT!

Patrons age 0 – 5 will be able to take home a Little Library Readers tote bag, board book, early literacy tips for parents, and resources from the Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida. This campaign is limited to 1 per child, while supplies last. All you will need is a NWRLS library card. The participating locations are the Bay County Public Library, Panama City Beach Public Library, and Parker Public Library.

This early literacy initiative is generously sponsored via a grant from the Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida. For more information about this wonderful organization, visit https://elcnwf.org/.

The Mobile Library will be out at Aaron Bessant Park this Saturday, September 26th, for the Panama City Beach Fall Festival! Stop by to tour the bus, learn more about library resources, pick up a free gently used children's book, and win a prize!

In August 2026, you checked out over 15,000 digital ebooks, eaudiobooks, and emagazines from the Libby app! We love that Northwest Regional Library System library card holders enjoy this service and hope to continue connecting you to the books you love for years to come.

In celebration of National Library Card Sign Up Month, here are some numbers that show how much our communities love our libraries! The Northwest Regional Library System has 7 libraries across three counties: Bay, Gulf, and Liberty County.

From October 2025 - August 2026, over 255,000 people visited our libraries! There were over 550,000 items checked out (physical and digital combined), and library staff facilitated over 1,100 in-person programs with almost 20,000 people attending. That doesn't even include all of the in-person activities like scavenger hunts and craft kits that staff create for you, or off-site programs where we provide outreach to our communities.

Not only are we partnering with UF IFAS Extension Bay County to give away seed packet kits to library card holders in the month of September, but the library is also hosting an upcoming program you don't want to miss!

Join us on Thursday, September 17 at 1 p.m. CT to learn from horticulture expert, Lauren Goldsby. You'll learn all about growing the necessary veggies to make a salad and learn tips for planting in Northwest Florida.
