The Itsy Bitsy Library has been back for a few months now!

We love to see more community members stop by and take and share books! We will try our best to update books bi-weekly! We will also be posting flyers that have information about our local park classes and sports!

Our little library went down last night with the wind. We rescued the books, but the little library will be under construction once the weather gets better!

As candidate week approaches, and we collect signatures to get Marvin’s name on the ballot to represent the East San Fernando Valley for LAUSD Board District 6, we’d like to ask our friends and family to help us with two things.

1. Please share the campaign website and social media platforms with your friends and family who live in the East San Fernando Valley community. This vote will directly affect them, their children and their neighborhood public schools.

A 7-0 vote from our School Board to begin contract negotiations with Mr. Alberto Carvalho may signal the hiring of a potential ally to public education.
As our new superintendent, Mr. Carvalho is a contrast to his predecessor and the crowded field of applicants for the position. He possesses the experience both in public education and with communities of color that we hope has influenced him to be the socially and fiscally empathetic leader our district schools and communities need. Whether he will bend to pressure from charter schools and privatizers is yet to be seen.
We are hopeful that his focus as our superintendent is to empower and uplift our district schools and the communities they serve.
